Ramp up the Taste with This Innovative Cocoa Spice Snack Cake Recipe

This recipe for cocoa spice snack cake is sure to elevate your mood and your palate!

  • ¼ cup of butter that has been melted.
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa
  • ¾ cup of applesauce
  • 1 ¼ cups of unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon of baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 beaten egg


  1. Combine the melted butter and the cocoa.
  2. Blend the applesauce into the melted butter and cocoa mixture.
  3. Combine the flour, baking soda, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt together in large mixing bowl.
  4. Blend the butter/cocoa/applesauce mixture and the egg into the dry mixture.
  5. Spread the cake batter in a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
  6. Bake the batter at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 35 minutes.
  7. Allow the cocoa spice snack cake to cool in the baking pan before serving.
